FÜRSTENBERG. The Brandenburg Memorial Site Foundation announced that a vernissage would take place on Wednesday, 28 February at 5:00 p.m. to inaugurate the exhibition "The Purple Triangles in Ravensbrück." (…)
The exhibition shows the "Block of Bible Students" in Ravensbrück as well as the "Declaration of Duty" that promised the release of prisoners who accepted to give up their faith. Other parts of the display describe the commando units of forced labour to which female Witnesses were subjected and the convoys to Auschwitz and Birkenau. Finally, the exhibition calls to mind the dramatic situation of the surviving "Purple Triangles" after 1945. Not only were they denied deportee status in the GDR and the Soviet Union, but once again they faced persecution and were arrested. (…) MAZ
